- Paid on time for nearly 6 years, but mailed payments are slow to process.
- Robo calls say payment not received; verification and password issues.
I have had a car loan through this company for nearly 6 years. I have never missed or been late for a payment since that time.
Although I have noticed through the years that the payments I have mailed in along with the monthly bill I have been mailed seem to take an unusually long time for the company to process. I was becoming concerned because my most recent payment was not processed 3 weeks after I had mailed it in. What happened? I'm not sure.
Did the post office lose it? Today I received a robo call from Acura Financial Services. Apparently, they had not received my payment and asked me to call an 800 number. They advised me first, before calling, to check and manage the issue online.
I did. My password was not recognized on their site. I reset my password using the link provided. Then they said they would send a code to verify.
The code was not sent. I requested that they send a new code. No new code was sent. I called the number.
The robotic voice was full of silent gaps. I tried to pay the bill following their instructions but was unable to do so. They told me to press a number to speak to a customer service representative. I did so.
The transfer rang once, then disconnected.
I'm 68 years old and have been dealing with these robot issues over the phone for many years. This is the absolute worst service I've ever received!

- Help access is limited without the account number.
- Cannot quickly update bank details for automatic payments; checks block help.
I feel that limiting the customers ability to get help on trying to get financial services help to having their lease account number, which I do not have with me, Make sure youis basically saying we do not acknowledge your need for help. I was recently scammed and wanted to update my payment bank account information for current and future automatic payments.
I now do not have a quick or easy way to update the information.
Could not understand why SS#, name, address, zip code, password, etc. couldnt be associated with the customer and subsequently provide help and a solution.
User's recommendation: Do not expect that just because you have an Acura, that getting Acura financial services help will be an easy customer friendly process.

- Acura reported an inflated balance of $25,000 when only $12,000 was due.
- Updates require written requests; reporting stopped after one quarter.
Acura service no longer reports to credit bureaus until your debt is completely met. It was showing that I owed $25,000 on my car when I only owed $12,000.
I called to request an updated report and they said I had to do so in writing.
So I wrote them a letter and asked that they keep my report up-to-date every quarter and they updated it one quarter and then stopped updating. I just had to write a second letter with the same request and I'm pissed that I have to take time out for these requests, but when you're trying to maintain accurate reporting for future loans, accurate reporting is critical.
User's recommendation: I would request quarterly reports at the time of the loan or borrow with someone else. Chances are, if you qualify for a loan with Acura, you'll qualify for a loan with someone else.

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Acura financial services still demanding money after car was paid in full
- Acura loan was paid off via notary refinance; $98 interest charged and paid.
- Months later they claimed $283 and threatened collection.
This review was for Acura in Canada. Sorry!.
I received a letter from them saying my account was up to date and the car was paid off. After three months, I got another call and a registered letter saying I now owe $283 and that they are putting me in collection if I don't pay it in 10 days. I have a perfect credit rating, and they are threatening to blemish it if I don't pay up.
So even if I do pay that money to get them off my back, there is nothing stopping them from hitting me up for more money, as they have already done that twice. I am very frustrated and have no confidence in their finance department.
Preferred solution: I would like them to stop asking for money for a car that they themselves have told me was paid in full.
User's recommendation: Find financing elsewhere

- Received a $0 delinquency notice; worry it could affect my credit.
- Gigi at Acura Financial Services did not resolve the issue or restore trust.
I have been leasing Acuras since 2012 and have never been late for a payment. Yesterday, I got a delinquency notice for $0.
I called Acura Financial Services, concerned that I would get a delinquency showing up on my credit report. I spoke to Gigi. She did not understand my point or why I was calling because I have a $0. I said I was upset that they sent me the notice and concerned about my credit now.
She was not owning up to their mistake and how this could potentially affect my credit by sending me a delinquency notice, saying it is my state's requirement to send out the notice. I said again I was not delinquent. She said she does not know what I am talking about and sounded really incompetent and had no idea what she was doing. I feel a lack of trust and am not confident enough to trust Acura to lease with them again.
I love Acuras. Something needs to be done about their financial services.

- Poor customer service; unable to arrange a payment plan.
- Car repossessed after about 3 months; reported sketchy calls and intimidation.
Absolutely horrible customer service, called to try to work out payment agreement as I was getting behind on my lease due to personal issues. They wouldnt work with me, so I said fine repo it cause I could no longer afford the payments.
(I worked for Acura for 6 years always had a car through them, they sold the dealership to someone who got there own people and fired everyone, so I had to start making payments with out the lease allowance) so the screwed me and my
Family. Anyways took them 3 months to take the car. I didnt receive any phone calls except for one from a very scetchy person left a message you must call me immediately or else then they went even further and stalked me online to find out who my best friend was and called them to find out if they could find me and told my best friend that I had a warrant out for my arrest and then questioned if I was still living with my girlfriend whos now my wife
Like how did they know that looking up personal information thats none of their damn business. When I called back this sketchy person, she was a complete *** and continued to be sketchy and said we cannot find your vehicle.
Where is it or I will send a police officer to come and arrest you please lady I know every cop in this town and they know me on good notes. She said that they would come out the next day to come get the car and they have yet to do it.
Completely sketchy service sketchy people dont bother. Car is not worth it.

- Never spoke with a live person; only a robot, which felt unsatisfying.
- I mailed my Feb payment on the first and suspect it was not delivered.
I have no idea if the issue was resolved. I never spoke with a person, just a robot and thats so unsatisfying.
For the amount of money I am paying, one would expect A1 customer service.
I mailed my Feb payment on the first and suspect it was not delivered. But then not speaking with a live person, pure guesses all-around.

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: System Rip off of Payments 3 times After Vehicle was Paid Off!!
- 2024 Acura Integra lease; buyout July 2024.
- Bi-weekly withdrawals; nearly CAD$400; two NSF fees.
- Aug 13, 2024: third withdrawal; later reversed.
By end of the same day August 13, 2024 I noticed that the withdrawal attempt was reversed, and the nearly CAD$400 was debited by to my account before incurring an NSF charge the following morning.
This was done about July 28, 2024, but as payments are recurring bi-weekly, I still saw a payment just below CAD$400 being withdrawn from my account. As I had suspected this would happen, I had transferred funds from my checking account to my savings account, and naturally this resulted in a CAD$45 NSF charge to my checking account. I allowed this to slide. But not 3 days later the same thing happened, and so now being charged an NSF twice by the bank, I contacted Acura Financial Services to explain the situation.
They had me speak with their accounting personnel who explained to me that there was nothing they could do about my second NSF charge as the buying company had only recently made the payment to settle the lease, and the Acura's system automatically makes withdrawals. I was very upset by this, especially when told again that Acura would not take responsibility for this charge - which was necessary on my part, as if I had not incurred the NSF charge they would have fleeced me for the second tine of $400. Since that time I received by mail a latter from Acura Financial that my lease was settled and there was no further business with this lease arrangement. BUT FOR THE 3RD TIME This happened on August 13, 2024, when I woke up to find a third attempt by Acura to withdraw the almost $400 from my account.
This will undoubtedly result in another NSF charge of $45 from my checking account. The agent on the phone, who refused to pass my call onto a supervisor, gave her first name only as Nadila, despite being asked for her last name; and provided me with a case number. Nadila also told me there is nothing that she can do to refund me the funds owed to me, insisted that I should have contacted my bank to stop the payments - when no one from Acura Financial at any point throughout our interactions in the past asked me to do this. They all keep hiding behind "the system [and its random automatic payments/withdrawal attempts]".
I say that Acura has always been my favourite car brand, but the backend support system is absolutely atrocious, and all buyers must beware. Its unfortunate that the local dealer which had been absolutely amazing, will have to bear the low rating, as there is no platform to review Acura Financial Services as a separate business entity. Total rip off. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!
Resolution:
By end of the same day August 13, 2024; after initially telling me by phone that there is nothing they can do about the NFS charges (expected for the 3rd unnecessary attempt to withdraw funds from my bank) - I noticed that the withdrawal attempt was reversed, and the nearly CAD$400 was debited by to my account before incurring an NSF charge the following morning.
Unfortunately this to me means, that all that blather about not being able to refund me or control the automatic system withdrawal attempts, was misleading.
The way I see it, AFS owed my at least CAD$45 still for the second NSF charge - that came day(s) after the funds were clearly paid over to them by the company buying out the lease. I would never lease another vehicle.
- Answer the phone quickly
- Refuse to pass complaints on to management
User's recommendation: There "automatic" system will rip you off, and they refuse to take liability for it.

- No option to speak to a human; no lease number.
- California line wasn't open after three minutes.
- Charged $400; oil changed, wipers new, car clean.
I was not given the option to speak to a human being. I didn't have my lease account number.
I called their other 800 number line, which is in California and should be open, but after wasting three minutes of my life on the phone, it said they were not open yet. However, they charged me $400. *** considering I had gotten the oil changed two weeks prior and had actually put new windshield wipers on it.
The car was super clean. My daughter drove it with 12,000 less miles than we had signed up for.

- Terrible experience with Acura Finance; had to call about 10 times for a lease extension, got conflicting info, and the issue remains unresolved.
I have had a terrible time getting help with a lease extension. Ive had to call about 10 times to get this resolved after being giving bad information multiple times by incompetent reps.
It is still not resolved and I started it two weeks before my lease ended as instructed. I absolutely love my Acura and have been driving Acuras for years.
This was my first lease and the experience with Acura finance has been terrible. I wanted to lease another, not this experience with the finance department has been so frustrating that I may have to consider another option.
- Answer the phone quickly
- Incompetent customer service agents
Preferred solution: I just want my lease extension processed.
User's recommendation: Be prepared for poor customer service if you get a lease
I hate this company
- I have owned 5 Acuras over 15 years.
- The finance arm charged late fees despite auto pay and was unhelpful on the phone.
- I still like the cars.
I have had 5 Acuras over the last 15 years or so, between my wife and I. And my experience with the finance arm of the company is so bad that I may never buy another one.
How do you have late fees when you have demonstrably successfully set up auto pay?
And the people who answer the phone couldnt be less helpful. Such a shame because I like the cars.

- The financial services organization is harsh and lacks human communication.
- There are many alternatives; avoid financing with AFS.
This financial services organization is harsh and lacks any kind of human communication or response to requests.
There are so very many alternatives out there. Do NOT finance with AFS and avoid at all costs.
Good luck ever talking to a human.
Why?
Because anything resembling human is foreign to them.
I have owned two Acuras and while I like the car, this is my last time ever purchasing one. There are highly rated alternatives and it is time to move in a new and completely different direction.
- Lack of communication among a host of other things
Preferred solution: A human conversation with someone at AFS
User's recommendation: NOT recommended! Steer clear.
Customer Service
- Based on service, not vehicle quality; I wouldn't buy again.
- Customer service is hard to reach; holds over 40 minutes.
- They are open 9-5, Mon-Fri.
The review is based on the service not the quality of the vehicle. You can never get a hold of anyone at the customer service department.
Hold times are over 40 minutes and they are only open 9-5 Monday through Friday. I wouldnt get another vehicle based on the service alone.
Preferred solution: Apology

If you aren’t making your required payment, they have every right to get the car back.
Absolutely but it’s the way the handled it and even after we told them to take it. It’s actually illegal in the state of Massachusetts to take a car off of the property. Maybe you should do some research however it’s also illegal to threaten people and to stock them so it’s really bottom line is the way that they handled it and we told them to come take the car it took them three months and threats.
